Our Story. Penny Pursuits Media is a financial media company that produces personal finance and investing content. Since our founding, we’ve helped thousands of people take control of their financial lives. Initially, however, the goal was simply to document my own Penny Pursuits.
My name is Rocky Horton and I’m the founder and editor of Penny Pursuits. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006 with over $60k in student loan and credit card debt, it wasn’t long before I went down the side hustle and investing rabbit holes. Before I knew it, I had fell in love with the game of personal finance!
In the 17 years since, I’ve worked full-time in occupational health and safety (work injuries) while trying EVERYTHING in my spare time to earn additional income and maximize my investment portfolio. This includes creating websites like AccidentAdvisor and experimenting with various side hustles. I share on this site what worked and what didn’t so you can avoid the headaches and reach financial freedom faster.
